Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry Eye Syndrome is one of the most common eye problems encountered as we get older.

The symptoms of dry eye are red, sore or gritty eyes but strangely can also include watery eyes. This is because a dry eye is an eye that has an inadequate tear film and part of the problem may be that the tears do not adhere to the front of the eye properly causing the eye to water.

Our specialist dry eye clinics enable us to diagnose the exact cause of the dry eye which can be due to tear deficiency or evaporation of the tear film.

We can then devise a treatment plan to stabilise the tear film and improve the symptoms.

It may not be possible to eliminate all the symptoms and cure the problem, but the discomfort can almost certainly be improved with an individual and specific treatment plan.
